Bookkeeping with a SIE file

Denira creates a SIE file your accounting program can import. The file has summary vouchers per day with payments, refunds, gift cards, invoices and Denira's fees. Fortnox, Visma, Bokio and Björn Lundén all read SIE 4I.

1

Get started

  • Go to Settings → Bokföring. Choose the invoice method or the cash method, the same as in your accounting program.
  • Enter the voucher series. It must exist in your accounting program; A almost always does.
  • Check the accounts. The defaults follow BAS 2026. Change any account you book differently.
  • Go to Reports and click Bokföring (SIE). Pick a period, for example last month, and click Exportera.
  • Two files download. Import the .si file as a SIE voucher import. Keep the specification (CSV) with your records.
  • The first time, export a short period such as one week and check the vouchers in your accounting program before importing a whole month. Ask your accountant about the accounts if you are unsure.

What the file books

The accounts below are the defaults. A booking with several VAT rates is split by its price, for example 6 % for the experience and 25 % for a rented product.

Why payments are booked as sales right away

Customers usually pay before the experience. VAT on a prepayment is due when the money arrives, so the file books sales and output VAT on the payment date. With the cash method, invoices are also booked when paid.

A paid gift card is a multi-purpose voucher. VAT is due when it is used, not when it is sold, so the sale is booked as a liability on 2421. A free gift card is a discount and does not appear in the file.

Stripe payouts and fees

Account 1686 is the money held at Stripe. Denira reads your Stripe account, so the file also books the payouts to your bank and Stripe's own fees. The balance on 1686 then follows your Stripe balance, and you do not book Stripe's payout report by hand.

A payout is booked on the day it reaches the bank. If it fails afterwards, the money is booked back to 1686 that day. Stripe's fees are summed per day. Denira's fee comes in through Denira's monthly invoice, not from Stripe.

Between a payment and Denira's monthly invoice, the balance on 1686 is slightly higher than in Stripe. The difference goes away once the month's invoice is in the file. If Denira cannot read Stripe when you export, you get a warning; then book the period's payouts and fees from Stripe's report.

5

The specification

Each day gets up to four vouchers: sales and payments, Denira invoices, Denira's fees, and Stripe payouts and fees. Summary vouchers are allowed when you keep the details behind them. The specification has one row per event with booking number, customer, amount, VAT and accounts. Keep it for seven years like other accounting records.

6

Not included

  • Denira's invoice for the monthly plan. It is paid by card; book it from the invoice.
  • Orders you invoice outside Denira. Book them from your own invoice.
  • Payments imported from BookSpot. They are already in your books.
  • Disputed card payments that are not yet decided. Stripe holds the amount, so 1686 is higher than your Stripe balance until the dispute is decided. If you lose the dispute, the file books a refund.
  • Payouts from a Stripe account you have disconnected from Denira. Denira can no longer read that account.
  • Amounts in currencies other than SEK.

Export each day once

Every event has a date, so exporting the same period again gives the same vouchers. Importing the same days twice books them twice. Denira warns when a period overlaps an earlier export.

A period must fall within one financial year. Set the financial year under Settings → Betalning.
